You may have seen American Gra-Frutti products at your local Whole Foods.  Their facility is dedicated gluten free, and they make bake goods:  pies, cakes, muffins, crackers, graham crackers, cookies.  My new favorite things are the graham crackers and the flat breads.  I used the graham crackers to make a pie crust, and the flat breads as a dipping cracker.  Perfect!  

The most exciting thing about American Gra-Frutti?  You can actually go to their manufacturing facility and buy product!  No grocery store lines, and a much better selection!  As an added bonus, Marilyn is a sweetheart.  I highly recommend!

Soda Crackers

I thought I'd found the perfect gf Soda Cracker, and it is a really good cracker. Galbusera is a gf company in Italy, and I tested there ZeroGrano crackers. They feel like soda crackers, and taste fairly close to the real thing. As I said, it is a good cracker, but I won't use it again with my chicken soup. They hold together well with dryer applications, but they melted in my soup. Into a fizzy ooze. Yuck doesn't begin to cover it.

In any event, I'll still use them for everything except soup. I bought mine at Atlantis in Dunwoody.

Best GF Restaurant EVER. There is an actual menu. They have the best gluten free bread I have ever tasted to

snack on while you decide what to order. Make sure you ask for it. I don't know if every Outback carries this bread,

but they should! Everything is well seasoned. I don't feel like the red-headed stepchild when I eat here. Heaven.

Be sure to ask for Melissa. She's the best.

I have yet to find a Mexican restaurant that serves gluten free with any taste at all. Today I was desperate for Mexican, and hoped a chain would have decent gluten free. It was all good when I called them and they said of course they have a gluten free menu. Turns out, no they did not. But the manager assured me they would and could accommodate. Look at the menu, she said, and I'll come and talk you through it. Never saw her again. The waitress was fairly helpful. Unfortunately I was not her only customer, so getting answers to my gf questions took quite a while.

As for the food, they do have just corn tortilla chips, but the chips are thick and chewy. I ordered chicken fajitas with corn tortillas instead of flour. I'm used to TexMex, I guess, because I expected chicken with onions/peppers/tomatoes and some spice! Instead, I got grilled chicken fingers. No veggies, no spice, no taste! Just a pile of grilled chicken fingers with some cheese, pico and a sprig of cilantro on the side. On the plus side, the chicken was very well cooked. The white queso is also gf, so I filled up on that and chewy chips, and brought the chicken home so I could spice it up. I won't go back to Pappasito's.

I was so excited to find gf pizza. MM only has one size for gluten free, but you can pile most anything on it. Just not meatballs. Make sure to ask which toppings are not gluten free. The pizza is good, the crust just a little sweet. The manager at this store was very helpful, even to telling me about another pizza place that has gf crust - don't tell on him, though! I awarded 4 G's for accommodation because there is only one size, and 4 for taste because the crust is sweet for me. Overall, outstanding gf pizza!

I have had a bear of a time finding restaurants that consider, much less cater to, my gluten free needs. My restaurant reviews will consider gluten free awareness, accommodation and service, as well as quality and taste of food. I'll be rating on the "G" scale, 5G's being the best.

Love this Five Guys! No, they don't have a gluten free menu. However....the manager is AWESOME. When I called to asked about gluten free, he told me he would do everything he could to make my meal gluten free, and he did! He personally made my hamburger - without the bun, of course. He even sanitized the entire work space, made everyone change their gloves, and made mine all by itself. My husband, who is not gf special, ordered as well. The manager made sure our fries were in a separate bag from the hub's hamburger, so I could have worry free fry enjoyment.
